Charging InstructionsUpdated 6 months ago
Proper charging ensures your Go-Battery is always ready to provide a full night of CPAP power. Follow these instructions for safe and efficient charging:
Use the Provided Charger: Always charge the Go-Battery with the included 65W USB-C Power Delivery (PD) charger and cable. This charger is optimized for the battery’s lithium-ion cells and will charge it much faster than a standard USB charger. Using a lower-power adapter (such as a phone charger, a laptop USB port, or older USB-A ports) is not recommended – the battery may not charge properly or at all with insufficient power input. Stick to the 65W PD charger or an equivalent high-output USB-C PD charger to ensure the battery charges at the intended rate
Charging Steps: First, connect the 65W charger to a wall outlet. Plug the USB-C charging cable into the charger and the other end into the Go-Battery’s USB-C port labeled for input (the same USB-C port is used for charging the battery). The battery’s display will activate, and you may see indicators showing that charging has started (for example, the charge level or a charging icon on the screen). The Go-Battery will typically reach full charge in about 4 hours when using the fast charger, assuming it was near empty. During charging, the unit may feel slightly warm – this is normal for high-capacity batteries being charged at faster rates. Once the display or indicator shows 100% (or the voltage level stops increasing), the battery is fully charged. You can then unplug the USB-C cable and the charger.
Alternative Charging Options: The Go-Battery can also be charged on-the-go using alternative power sources if you have the appropriate equipment. For example, you can use a USB-C car charger (plugged into a vehicle’s 12V outlet) or a USB-C solar panel charger to refill the battery. Make sure these alternatives provide sufficient output (again, ideally 60W or higher via USB-C PD) to actually charge the battery. Charging time may be longer when using car adapters or solar panels, depending on their output and environmental conditions (solar charging will vary with sunlight). Always monitor the battery’s charging status on the display to ensure it’s receiving a charge.
Safety Precautions: Lithium-ion batteries are sensitive to how they are charged. Only use the approved charging cable and adapters to avoid any risk of damage. Do not attempt to use multiple chargers or unofficial adapters simultaneously. It’s best to charge the battery in a cool, dry place away from direct heat sources. The Go-Battery has built-in protections (over-charge, over-current, etc.), but it’s wise not to leave it connected to a charger for extended periods beyond full charge. Once it’s full, disconnect it and store or use it as needed. Do not charge the battery while it is powering a CPAP – the Go-Battery is not designed for pass-through charging (it cannot function as an uninterruptible power supply). In other words, you should either be charging the battery, or using the battery to power a device, but not both at the same time. This ensures safe operation and maximizes the lifespan of the battery.
By following these charging instructions, you’ll ensure your Go-Battery remains in good health and is ready to deliver reliable power. Regularly charging it with the proper equipment will also help maintain its battery capacity over time. (For long-term care: if storing the battery, top it up every few months – see Maintenance in the FAQ section below for more tips.)
